Welcome to Spirit of Life

Greetings in Christ!

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the redesigned, relaunched web site for the parish of Spirit of Life!  It is my hope that this will become a vital means of communication for our parish community.  You will notice that some pages are still under construction.  We appreciate your patience as all the detail are tended to.

We at Spirit of Life, as disciples of Christ, are committed to truly living a Stewardship way of life.  Everything we have in this life, everything we are, is a gift from God. Psalm twenty-four, verse one tells us that "The earth is the LORD'S and all it holds, the world and those who live there."  We truly possess nothing!  It is all from God, given by God to be used to show His love.  We live as stewards through the four pillars of hospitality, prayer, formation, and service

Hospitality

Living hospitality is the beginning of living stewardship.  We strive to recognize every person we meet, friends, family, and enemies, as Christ himself (Mt. 25:35).  At Spirit of Life we endeavor to warmly welcome all who join us for prayer, service, and formation.

Prayer

St. Paul tells us to "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17).  As a community of faith, we are committed to prayer as the foundation for the living of our faith.  Through full, active participation in the Eucharist, through Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, through devotional practices and personal prayer, Christ builds us up and forms us into His people.   The way we learn to pray is by praying, and so we do, allowing Jesus Christ to be our teacher.

Formation

We as disciples of Jesus Christ are called to root our faith in prayer, yes, but, additionally in an understanding of what we believe and why we believe what we believe.  We deepen our faith through deepening our appreciation for Scripture, Tradition, Church history, and Christian spirituality.  We strive to understand what it means to live as Christian stewards in every aspect of our lives.

Service

We strive to be ministers to the need of our parish members and the wider community.  We desire to serve compassionately those who are hurting or in need, lost or alone, or suffering in any way.  We give thanks to God for all the gifts we have received and we celebrate the special events in the lives of parishioners.

Thank you for your interest in Spirit of Life Catholic Church!  If you are a parishioner, thank you for all of the ways you serve Christ and your parish.  If you are a guest, know you are welcome to every opportunity for prayer, formation, and service in our parish.

In Christ,

Fr. Keith Streifel
