Spirit of Life celebrated its first Mass as a parish on October 1, 1978, in the basement of the Mandan Knights of Columbus Hall. It was three years of Mass at the KC hall before Spirit of Life moved to its new home. The church was dedicated on October 4, 1981, by Bishop Hacker. As the parish grew over the years the need for more space became an issue and in 1995 a capital campaign was put into place to build onto the church. Construction was completed in 1997 and on Palm Sunday the first Mass was celebrated in the new space. Over the years the parish has done several updates to the church including a remodel of the sanctuary and adding four beautiful stained-glass windows and a marble altar. Spirit of Life is vibrant young parish that is currently home to 868 families. Along with everyday parish activities and formation the parish is also home to a food pantry that operates out of their activity center Monday – Friday serving sack lunches daily and giving out food boxes to the poor in our community.
